Your Right to Data Deletion

PubCue AI respects your right to control your personal data. You may request complete deletion of your account and all associated data at any time. We comply with applicable data protection regulations including GDPR, CCPA, and platform-specific requirements from Meta, Google, and other third-party services.

What Data We Store

When you use PubCue AI, we store the following categories of data:

  • Account information - name, email address, hashed password, profile settings
  • Connected social accounts - OAuth tokens and account identifiers for platforms you connect (Facebook, Instagram, Threads, X, etc.)
  • Content - posts, drafts, scheduled content, media files (images, videos), and post comments/threads
  • Personas and voice profiles - persona configurations, AI voice settings, and conversation style data
  • Automation settings - automation rules, drip campaigns, and scheduling preferences
  • Inbox data - synced messages, subscriber memory, and AI-generated reply drafts
  • Analytics - usage logs, AI generation history, and audit trail
  • Organization data - team memberships, invitations, and role assignments

How to Delete Your Data

You can request data deletion through any of the following methods:

Option 1: Self-Service (Recommended)

Log in to your PubCue AI account, navigate to Settings > Security, and use the "Delete My Account & Data" button in the Danger Zone section. You will be asked to confirm by typing a confirmation phrase. This initiates immediate deletion.

Option 2: Email Request

Send an email to legal@pubcue.comwith the subject line "Data Deletion Request" and include the email address associated with your account. We will verify your identity and process the request within 30 days.

Option 3: Platform-Specific Requests

If you connected your account via Facebook Login or another social platform, you can also initiate data deletion through that platform's app settings. When we receive a deletion callback from the platform, we process it automatically.

Data Export Before Deletion

Before deleting your account, we recommend exporting your data. Log into your account and visit /api/settings/export to download a complete JSON file containing all your stored information including posts, personas, channels, media metadata, and settings.

What Happens After Deletion

  • Immediate - your account is deactivated and you are logged out of all sessions
  • Within 24 hours - all OAuth tokens for connected platforms are revoked
  • Within 30 days - all personal data, content, media files, and associated records are permanently deleted from our systems and backups
  • Exceptions - we may retain anonymized, aggregated data that cannot be linked back to you (e.g., total platform usage statistics). We may also retain data required by law, such as billing records for tax compliance (typically 7 years).

Third-Party Data

Deleting your PubCue AI account removes all data stored within our systems. Content that was already published to third-party platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Threads, X, etc.) is not affected by this deletion, as that content is governed by each platform's own terms of service. To remove published content, you must do so directly on each platform.

Meta Platform Data

If you connected your Facebook or Instagram account to PubCue AI through Meta's Facebook Login, we store the access tokens and basic profile information required to manage your pages and publish content on your behalf. Upon account deletion, we immediately invalidate all Meta access tokens and delete all stored Meta-related data including page tokens, Instagram account identifiers, and any cached content. You can also revoke PubCue AI's access directly from your Facebook Business Integrations settings.
